Period Wear Pageant

Pageant begins @ 2:00 p.m.

 

As part of the bicentennial opening ceremony, we will be hosting a Period Wear Pageant. Participants will be asked to wear some type of clothing representing any era between the 1800’s/Civil War time period until the present day. Participants will be split by gender and then into two age categories; under 18 and over 18. Each contestant will be asked to briefly introduce themselves and explain which period they are representing. Contestants will be judged on the authenticity of period wear to that particular time period. There will be a winner in the Young Miss division & Ms. Division, as well as a winner in Young Mr. Division and Mr. Division. Winners will receive sashes.

Fashion & Dress suggestions

For Females:

§  Day dress, tea dress, or ball gown

§  Flapper Wear:1920’s-1940’s era

§  Accessories: parasol, basket, fan, gloves, jewelry, doll, Bonnet, hat, hair accents

§  Appropriate hair style & makeup for the impression

 

For Males:

§  Uniform, day suit

§  Accessories: Rifle, haversack/cup, belt/cartridge, hat, cap, period toy, or flag.

§  Appropriate hairstyle

 

There is no fee to enter the pageant. Please bring completed forms to The Centre on Main by January 22nd @ 2 p.m. to pre-register. Or you may register January 23rd at 1:00 p.m. at the Courthouse Square.
